Cheerful Givers Incorporation began on Facebook as Be A Cheerful Givers (BACG) on June 6, 2016, and took its present name after registration in the USA. Today CGI runs fundraising and coordination in the United States, with co-admins and coordinators across Nigerian states.

Our founder's work has been recognised with the Gani Fawehinmi Impacts Award (GFIIA 2024), the Ogun Women Arise Award and Chamberlain University’s Commit to Care Award (2023), and featured in Voyage Baltimore Magazine.
